My Mother Is My Greatest Inspiration.
You see, my mom grew up in Allentown, PA during the Great Depression. Many people were left hungry, because so many people had their wages cut, or became unemployed. My grandmother would make this special bread with plates of dinner and leave them out on her back porch for passersby who were hungry and in need. This is how people helped each other out in the 1930’s.Â
